This office building replicates the scale and form of other notable Albion Square buildings, maintaining the adjacent historic church as an appropriate contrast in composition.
A recessed corner entry leads to the sculptural stair, revealed to the street and dramatising circulation within the building. Side walls are stepped, giving depth to the form and shading openings at both levels. Sun control and privacy screening elements are repeated in angular horizontal flashings to the cladding system which modulates scale and plays of light and shade on the side walls.
The upper floor houses the legal offices of Duncan Cotterill which are naturally lit and ventilated. The project was initiated by Irving Smith Jack as an investment for the Maitai Baptist Trust.
