Jeremy Smith grew up in Nelson and, after more than 15 years away, has returned to share with his own young family all the region has to offer. Jeremy has a first class honours degree in Architecture from Victoria University and was awarded the University's Centennial Medal as the top architecture graduate. Jeremy also has a Bachelor of Building Science and a Bachelor of Geology from Otago University. He is a member of the NZIA, has served as a jury member for the NZIA New Zealand Awards, and has recently been appointed to the the NZIA National Council.
Before returning to Nelson, Jeremy worked
in Melbourne and Auckland on a wide range of nationally
significant and award winning civic, commercial and residential
projects. He is a NZIA New Zealand award winning architect and his work and writings have been widely published.
When he is not deep in the architectural
process and furthering a commitment to siting and formulating
architecture within the landscape, Jeremy likes to escape to some urban adventure, as he prepares for life with three
teenage daughters.
